A special fundraising event for Endangered Species Theatre Project

Alan Ayckbourn’s brilliant trilogy of plays from 1974 tell the story of English suburban romantic disaffections—so of course, they are comedies. Each play is set in one area—dining room, living room, and back yard—of one house on one weekend in July. Passions are at their highest and, at the same time, their lowest, if you know what I mean, and you do. Things happen in one play which affect the action in the others, and part of the intense pleasure of observing them together is seeing Sir Alan, that expert farceur, take all his characters apart and put them back together; but it’s also shot through with genuine emotion and deep feeling. A rare chance to see some of Seattle’s terrific comic actors undertake this rarely-produced piece of triple ingenuity.
