In The Eulalie Scandiuzzi Space
Running Time: 2 hours with post show discussion.

June's reading is Modern Terrorism by Jon Kern. In the spirit of Dr. Strangelove comes Modern Terrorism, or They Who Want to Kill Us and How We Learn to Love Them, a provocative satire about a rogue group of 21st Century terrorists and their darkly comic misadventures. As a young bomber develops feelings for his beautiful, secretive conspirator, he is torn between his duty and his heart. When his hipster neighbor accidentally gets caught up in the plans, circumstances spiral out of control. This world premiere is the winner of the 2012 Laurents/Hatcher Foundation Award.

Curated by Washington Ensemble Theatre with support from ACT's Associate Artistic Director John Langs and Literary Manager Anita Montgomery, The Construction Zone provides playwrights with opportunities to develop and share new work, while providing audiences with an intimate and meaningful exposure to the process. Plays chosen for the series will be of the moment and feature gifted playwrights from around the country. Performed by professional artists and followed by discussions, The Construction Zone will occur in the 60-seat Eulalie Scandiuzzi space (The Lalie).
