Series creator and your host...
Ian created The Brown Derby Series at Re-bar and co-created the Neither/Nor series at (the sadly defunct) Consolidated Works. Ian's 10 years as Artistic Director of theatre group Bald Faced Lie yielded over 30 original shows for multiple local theaters, many tours across the U.S. and Canada, and regular appearances on NPR. Ian was Producing Director for Re-bar from 2005-2009 debuting and fostering the earliest work by artists such as "Awesome", The Love Markets, Mark Siano, Day In Dig Nation, and The French Project (many of which have gone on to perform at ACT's Central Heating Lab). Ian is also an actor: Ian has appeared in several productions of A Christmas Carol at ACT Theatre (usually as Mr, Fezziwig, one year as Fred). Other ACT credits include The Trip To Bountiful, The Pillowman, Black Coffee and several readings in Frank Corrado's series, Pinter Fortnightly. Elsewhere Ian has been seen in Glengarry Glen Ross, You Can't Take It With You, and The Imaginary Invalid (Seattle Repertory Theatre), The Borrowers (Seattle Children's Theatre), Swan Song (Seattle Shakespeare Company), Valley of the Dolls, Laramie Project, Strange Attractors, Killer Joe, Psychic Lives of Savages, Dealers Choice, and Of Mice and Men (all at Empty Space Theatre). Ian is the recipient of the Backstage West Garland Award, and a graduate of Bennington College.
