Seattle Dance Project presents Project 6 featuring an evening of works by Seattle based choreographer Jason Ohlberg. Spanning over 15 years of work, Project 6 debuts the SDP premiere of Ohlberg's Gloria and a re-imagined encore performance of last year's acclaimed Departure from 5th. Weaving lush movement against emotional landscapes of musical and human entanglement, Project 6 promises a richly rewarding night of dance theatre.

"Gloria" (2001)
One of Ohlberg's favorite pieces, "Gloria" is a celebration of life, dance and spirit. Centered around Vivaldi's master choral work, Gloria is a sumptuous feast of lush movement and striking images. Previously only half of the score has been choreographed and Ohlberg is delighted to be able to complete this work on Seattle Dance Project.

"Departure From 5th" (2012)
A reprisal from Project 5, "Departure from 5th" is an original work created on Seattle Dance Project that will be expanded this year into a full act work. A play on words, the title suggests both a break from the classical world of dance and also a courting of the inevitable time in a dancers life they must leave the stage behind. Powerfully balanced between poignant observations and humorous confessions, "Departure" is a rare and fascinating look into the soul of the dancer.
