    The public and private mythology of an iconic Republican family is challenged when their "black sheep" liberal daughter announces that she's planning the publication of a memoir dredging up a pivotal emotional crisis in their shared past. Playwright Jon Robin Baitz, author of The Substance of Fire and creator of the hit series Brothers and Sisters, compellingly examines the many faces of truth and the tangled ties that bind in this incendiary Tony Award-nominated drama.

    Paintings by Jane Richlovsky enter the futuristic geometry of California Modernist houses and unpack the persistent fantasy of the American Dream promised by their spare, uncomplicated lines. Painting on recycled domestic textiles, she leaves their printed patterns partially revealed as clothing or objects, using painted shadows and reflections to merge the figures with their idyllic domestic environments. Like the apparent California ease of Other Desert Cities, the smooth surfaces of their clean-lined affluence conceal an unspoken discordance.

    Jane Richlovsky's paintings have been exhibited in solo and group shows throughout the United States, including the Museum of Northwest Art and the Tacoma Art Museum in Washington; JoAnne Artman Gallery in Laguna Beach, California; LA Art Show and A Shenere Velt Gallery in Los Angeles; The Painting Center in New York City; Heineman-Myers Contemporary Art in Bethesda, Maryland; Art Now Miami in Miami Beach; Art Santa Fe; the Butte-Silver Bow Arts Foundation in Montana; and in Seattle at the Fetherston Gallery, Atelier 31, Pratt Gallery, and the Seattle Art Museum. She is the recipient of grants from the George Sugarman Foundation, the Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation, the King County Arts Commission, and Artist Trust. Her work is included in the collection of the King County International Airport and in private collections around the world.
