Whether you are already a wizard with words, or you've never dreamed of writing anything outside of school, you'll learn how to get your creative juices flowing and how to transform your stories, experiences, and opinions from thoughts in your head to words on a page. The class will end with a showcase of student work on December 4 at ACT, and the play you create will have a chance to be produced as a staged reading in ACT's 2013 Young Playwrights Festival!

Enrollment: $300  FREE, thanks to generous support from the Mayor's Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs! First come, first served. 20 students max.

Classes are Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, from 4-5:30pm. There is no class on Thursday, November 22. There will be a showcase of the students' work, on Tuesday, December 4 at 6:30pm.

The Young Playwrights Program seeks to provide its young participants with the tools and the opportunity to express aloud their diverse thoughts, ideas, concerns and viewpoints about themselves, the world in which they are living, and the challenges they face. The YPP seeks further to endow them with self-confidence and a sense that their ideas matter and that their voices deserve to, and will, be heard. Learn more about the Young Playwrights Program
