ACT has a variety of emerging opportunities for volunteers. Help ACT maintain its elegant state of the art facility, reach patrons, members, and donors, and keep up to date on administrative tasks by adding your name to our growing volunteer pool. We have a broad range of tasks available to our volunteers, appealing to whatever ability or interest you bring to the table:
Volunteering can be a tremendous opportunity for students, seniors, or anyone who wants to be involved with Seattle's thriving arts community and to preserve ACT's important place within it. Plus, there are plenty of perks for volunteers, including an annual appreciation event, discounts or passes to attend our productions, and more.
We hope you'll consider volunteering and becoming a member of our expanding family.
To add your name to the growing volunteer pool, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator Lyam White at lwhite@acttheatre.org, or call (206) 292-7660, ext.1995.
Volunteer Ushering
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer usher, to help our patrons during the runs of our Mainstage plays and holiday production of A Christmas Carol, please contact Lyam White at the phone number or email address above.
Street Team Volunteers
ACT is looking for street team volunteers to help distribute materials throughout the city and to raise awareness about ACT at community events. There are two main types of volunteer positions listed below -- if you have any questions about volunteering with the marketing and communications department, please email communications@acttheatre.org.
Street Team: Distribution
Volunteers will be responsible for distributing flyers to a specific neighborhood/area in Seattle -- locations include any business with a store-front or public area to display materials. Volunteers must be able to walk and carry materials while distributing and be comfortable engaging with business owners and managers. Access to car is very helpful. Hours vary and are based on volunteers schedules and the open hours of the business. You may sign up for an area on a monthly basis or commit to a multi-month time period.
Street Team: Events
Volunteers will be responsible for acting as the public face of ACT at street fairs, farmer's markets, art walks, and other assorted community events. Positions may include sitting behind a table at a booth or roaming a crowd engaging with individuals about ACT. Volunteers should be outgoing and uninhibited to approach individuals to give them a flyer or engage with them about current shows at ACT. Access to a car can be helpful but is not required. Hours vary but will be announced and scheduled as needed. Volunteers must attend one information and training meeting before joining as a member of the this group.
