ACT holds a yearly general audition for Equity actors, usually some time between December 1 and February 28. Audition appointments are made in advance on a first-come, first-served basis to Equity members, and there may be remaining slots available for Non-Equity actors. Auditions are announced through Actors’ Equity Association and Theatre Puget Sound, as well as here on ACT’s website. Equity members from outside Seattle who are visiting the city may request an individual audition at the theatre by contacting ACT’s casting office in advance.
ACT Theatre will hold one (1) day of Equity Principal Auditions for local actors on Friday, February 10, from 10:00am–1:30pm and from 2:30pm–6:00pm. Representative for the theatre will be Margaret Layne, Director of Casting.
Please prepare two short, contrasting monologues: either one classical/one contemporary, or two contrasting contemporary pieces. Song welcome but optional. An accompanist will be provided. Total presentation not to exceed three (3) minutes.
Appointments for the 2017 EPAs can be made starting on Monday, January 30, and at any time thereafter. To schedule an audition, please sign up in advance at the ACT Box Office Lobby, 700 Union Street, Seattle, weekdays between 12:00pm and 5:00pm. Headshots and resumes should be brought in on the day of the auditions, along with AEA membership card or proof of EMC status.
Wait Lists will be maintained for (a) EMC Candidates and (b) non-union actors; Wait List sign up sheets will also be available at the ACT Box Office Lobby. Wait List applicants will be notified of appointments as they may be available when all AEA members have been accommodated, but no later than Wednesday, February 8, 2017.
Equity members from outside Seattle may request an individual audition at the theatre if they are visiting the city. Please contact Margaret Layne, Director of Casting, by phone at 206.292.7660 x1226, or via e-mail at email@example.com.
ACT invites individual actors to read for roles in specific productions. These auditions are held as needed throughout the year on an invitation-only basis, but local actors are encouraged to express their interest in being seen for particular projects.
